Beth

My grandmother is one of the strongest women I know. She has been through more than anyone I’ve ever met, and she still loves so unconditionally, works so hard, and cares so deeply for her whole family and everyone around her.

She has made a massive impact on my life and I wanted to showcase her through a series of still lives and portraits of her.

Beth spent most of her life living on a farm; when she was young, she grew up farming with her family, and when she got married and had kids, they made their money growing grain, and made most of their own food off of livestock and gardening. Every Monday and Tuesday, my grandma does laundry for the seven people living in our house. In the summer, she carries load after load into the backyard and hangs them to dry.

Beth irons all of my uncles work shirts every Monday, and somehow still manages to bake us sweet treats every other week or so. Her habits and routine are almost all based around caring for and loving other people.
